Two different campaigns. Two different advocacy challenges. One shared belief: communications can create meaningful change when they are built with purpose, strategy, and measurable outcomes.

For Uniquecorn Strategies, its two Excellence Awards at the 22nd Philippine Quill Awards are more than another addition to its growing list of accolades. They are a testament to what purposeful communications can do: amplify voices that need to be heard, move important conversations forward, and contribute to change beyond the campaign itself.

In 2025, that meant helping children with autism and their families find a stronger voice in conversations around inclusion, while helping elevate the private sector’s role in shaping the country’s housing policy agenda.

The campaigns were different. The challenges varied. But the goal was the same: to make communications matter.

Double Excellence Awards, One Purpose

Amid a gathering of campaigns that moved audiences, sparked conversations, and made an impact, Uniquecorn Strategies had two reasons to celebrate. The agency took home two Excellence Awards at the 22nd Philippine Quill Awards for its work in Diversity and Inclusion and Government and Public Affairs.

Presented on August 27, 2026, at the Grand Ballroom of Solaire Resort in Parañaque City, the awards recognized two campaigns developed for Mylo Speech Buddy and the Subdivision and Housing Developers Association (SHDA).

“Building an ‘Ausome World’: Giving Every Child a Voice Through Awareness and Inclusion Advocacy Campaign” earned an Excellence Award in Diversity and Inclusion for creating more inclusive and non-stigmatizing conversations around autism.

Meanwhile, “Building a Nation of Homes: SHDA’s Public Affairs Program for Inclusive Housing Policy Reform” was recognized in Government and Public Affairs for helping keep housing reform at the center of the national policy conversation.

Giving Every Child a Voice

For Mylo Speech Buddy, the challenge was never simply about generating awareness around autism. It was about creating a conversation where children with autism and their families could be seen, heard, and represented with greater authenticity and dignity.

Launched for World Autism Awareness Month 2025, the Ausome World campaign brought together authentic family stories, a multi-sector launch forum, and a global digital video series.

Rather than putting the brand at the center, the campaign put people at the center, particularly neurodivergent children and their caregivers.

With a combined budget of just ₱230,000 and zero paid media, the six-week campaign generated 35.25 million in potential media reach and ₱26.32 million in PR value, while exceeding its targets for media coverage, digital video views, engagement, and community participation.

The Ausome World Launch Forum also welcomed 60 participants—twice the original target—bringing families, advocates, healthcare professionals, media, and policymakers together to discuss autism inclusion, therapy accessibility, and community support.

But the impact went beyond media numbers.

Mylo Speech Buddy grew from 75,000 downloads to more than 100,000 across 100 countries, while app subscribers increased by 33 percent in April 2025, all without paid advertising.

The campaign showed what can happen when communications give the people at the heart of an advocacy issue a stronger platform.

Building a Nation of Homes

If Ausome World was about amplifying the voices of families, Uniquecorn’s work with SHDA was about amplifying the private sector’s voice in another important conversation: the future of housing in the Philippines.

With the country facing a significant housing backlog, affordable and inclusive housing remains a pressing socioeconomic challenge.

Through Building a Nation of Homes, Uniquecorn worked with SHDA from January to December 2025 to position the organization as a credible private-sector voice on housing policy.

This required more than short-term publicity. The program combined evidence-based policy messaging, media engagement, stakeholder relations, national policy convenings, and sustained communications to keep housing reform on the national agenda.

The campaign generated 174 earned media placements, 76.2 million in potential reach, and ₱80.3 million in PR value.

Its 33rd National Developers Convention also brought together 400 participants, including media representatives, government officials, legislators, developers, and other stakeholders to discuss the country’s housing challenges.

But the most meaningful outcome went beyond media coverage. In 2025, Joint Memorandum Circular 2025-001 was passed, raising the socialized housing price ceiling to ₱950,000 for subdivision units and ₱1.8 million for condominium units, increasing the minimum floor area from 22 to 24 square meters, and updating development standards.

DHSUD’s official communications acknowledged the role of private developer organizations, including SHDA, in informing the policy update, providing a direct government-sourced acknowledgment of the private sector’s contribution.

The conversation had moved from headlines to policy.

The Work Behind the Wins

The two campaigns could not have been more different. One sought to create greater inclusion for children with autism and their families. The other spent an entire year helping move a complex national conversation around housing reform.

Yet both were built on the same belief: communications should have a purpose beyond simply being seen.

“These two wins show what happens when communications are built around purpose, strategy, and measurable outcomes,” said Irene Manansala, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Uniquecorn Strategies. “Whether we are giving families raising children with autism a stronger voice in the conversation on inclusion or helping turn a private sector’s data and advocacy into a national housing policy update, our role is to make communications matter.”

For Uniquecorn, that is what makes these wins meaningful. Not simply the recognition. Not simply the trophies. But the voices amplified, conversations moved, and change set in motion because of the work behind them.

The double recognition reinforces the agency’s commitment to PR-first strategic communications: using earned-led campaigns to build credibility, influence conversations, and create meaningful outcomes. Because what makes a win truly meaningful is knowing that the work behind it made a difference.
